Ipod Shutting off for no reason?

Ipod Shutting off for no reason?
My ipod was accidentaly been in my washer and dryer because I forgot to take it out and now sometimes when im listening to my ipod it shuts off for no reason and it says batteries are low when i just charged it and it shuts off. What is wrong with my ipod, and should I get a new one?

This is the case with my Ipod. WHat i do is let it turn off. Then i turn it back on again. Its on the menu screen and i wait, going thru the menus but i dont play a song. After a few seconds or so the little bar fills up for some reason. so then i just start playing my music. Also what i have done is restore it to factory settings. When u connect it to ur computer there should be a screen for your ipod.there is a certain button that says restore. Click on it. But once u do this u have to load ur songs again. But it is useful. u can also go to frequently asked questions at apple.com. It is also useful.
